A 40 minute drive takes you to the lush Vermont Valley where the Nature Trail is located in the Parrot Reserve. You will be briefed by your guide about St. Vincent's ecology, its flora & fauna. Also a brief stop at the information booth will be given.
As you begin a 2 hours trek across the verdant hillside you may catch a glimpse of our National parrot - the Amazona Guildingii in its natural habitat. This parrot lives in the wild only on the island of St. Vincent & the Grenadines and has a population of 700.
The reserve conserves 10,870 acres set aside to help to preserve the endemic parrot.
The trail offers the opportunity to walk through cultivated fields, forest plantation, rain forest, towering ferns, and bamboo
(60 ft) with varying species of wild life.
A well deserved refreshing cool down drink will be served at the end of the tour
.
Special remarks:
This tour is recommended for the athletically inclined. Comfortable hiking shoes and clothing are recommended. Please be mindful if the surface is dry there may be loose gravel stones, and can be slippery when wet.
